Futera United returned to Bangkok Premier League action with an emphatic win over a bewildered Thonburi City U18s. There was a real sense of anticipation with the news that Tishan Hanley would lead the line as Futera arrived at the tight little ground in the north west suburbs of Bangkok.

In oppressive heat the game kicked off and it took Futera 2 minutes to take the lead. Good hold up play from Tishan, using his immense strength, saw him play in the on running Jew to drill home into the bottom left corner from the edge of the box. The impressive Eak, also making his debut, swung in an accurate cross that was duly converted by Gael to double Futera’s lead. A misplaced pass from the Thonburi defence saw Bank, returning from injury, pounce to extend Futera’s lead.

Futera were now in complete control and moved the ball with pace and purpose. In the 9th minute Jew played an exquisite through ball inside the Thonburi full back, which allowed Bank to wrong foot the keeper to make the score 0-4. Two minutes later Bank completed his hat trick with a tidy finish. Thonburi were now looking somewhat shell shocked and were struggling to keep up with their superior opposition. A thunderous free kick from Eak flew into the top left corner for Futera’s sixth goal.

Tishan had impressed with his excellent hold up play and in the 16th minute his hard work was rewarded when he opened his account. A long kick from Film, deceived the Thonburi defence and Tishan’s pace and strength saw him burst through to coolly slot home. His second would follow shortly after, when another pearl of a pass from Jew played him in to confidently smash the ball past the deomoralised Thonburi keeper.

Gael added Futera’s ninth when he rounded the keeper to steer into the empty net before celebrating in his trademark manner in front of the travelling Futera fans. Tishan completed his hat trick in the 43rd minute after Gael unselfishly crossed for our big striker to finish clinically. The half time whistle blew with the score an incredible 0-10 to Futera.

Numerous changes to Futera’s lineup saw Ice making his long awaited debut after breaking his leg in training. Credit to Thonburi whose heads never went down and they continued to try and play football. In the 64th minute, Tishan showed real class when after being played in by the rejuvenated Few he rounded the keeper to tuck in his fourth of the game.

Seconds later Phu, reveling in a midfield role, latched on to a loose ball to unleash a ferocious drive that flew into the top left corner. Ter picked himself up after being upended by the Thonburi keeper to convert the penalty to make the final score a resounding 0-13 win for the rampant Futera United.

A fantastic performance from Futera United, with Tishan filling that centre-forward role we have been crying out for. Not only did he score four goals but his link up play was excellent and his presence seems to lift our young players. Eak had a fantastic debut, scoring a great goal and providing some accurate crosses. It was good to see Phu back in the midfield and he again showed what a talent he really is. We looked a very good side and this result will send shock waves through the division.
