Police Tero 1-4 Futera United

Futera United produced a superb performance to record an impressive 4–1 victory over Police Tero, with Song scoring twice in an outstanding display at Bangkok University Stadium.

Facing opposition from Thai League 2, Futera delivered arguably their most complete performance of pre-season so far, combining composed possession with disciplined defending and a constant threat going forward.

Both sides were without their leading striker, but it was Futera who settled quickest and took the lead during the opening period.

Fanta opened the scoring in style, finding space on the edge of the penalty area before striking a well-taken effort beyond the Police Tero goalkeeper to give Futera a deserved advantage.

Behind him, Futera looked assured. Zaw Min Tun produced a commanding performance at the heart of the defence, while Aof, Bas, Title, Phet and Fanta all contributed to an impressive defensive display. New signing James also enjoyed an excellent debut as Futera remained organised despite changes throughout the afternoon.

The second period saw Futera step things up further.

Song doubled the advantage with his first of the afternoon before James Oise provided the moment of the match. Good work from Beem created the opportunity and James produced a sublime curling finish to make it 3–0.

Futera’s midfield was instrumental in controlling the game. Que continued his impressive pre-season form, while Champ, Beem, Captain and Bealey all delivered strong performances. Khun once again brought his experience to the middle of the pitch as Futera moved the ball confidently and matched their higher-league opponents throughout.

The changes in the final period brought a different challenge, with Police Tero seeing more possession, but Futera remained disciplined and dangerous on the counter.

Song capped an excellent individual performance with his second goal. Spotting a mix-up between the Police Tero defence and goalkeeper well outside the penalty area, he reacted quickest to take advantage and put Futera 4–0 ahead.

Police Tero eventually found a late consolation when a fortunate deflection fell kindly for their midfielder, who finished beyond the outstretched New to make the final score 4–1.

Film and Dell had earlier both made important saves when required, while Heng’s energetic performance up front provided another major positive as he continued his return to action.

More than the scoreline, however, it was the nature of the performance that will please the coaching staff. The starting group controlled possession and moved the ball with confidence, while the players introduced later showed they could adapt, defend together and threaten on the break.

Against opposition operating two divisions above Futera, it was another significant step forward with the new season approaching.
