Futera United 5 - 1 Futera Trialists

Updated: Jul 8, 2022

29th May 2022 - 19:30hrs Thai / 12:30hrs GMT - TRIAL GAME

With our Bangkok Premier League fixture cancelled, our coaching staff took the opportunity to look at some potential trialists in a friendly game. St Kitts and Nevis international, Tishan Hanley was originally expected to take part but due to a sickening clash of heads with Boss he was ruled out.

A strong looking Futera United would play a trial team consisting of 9 hopefuls with the NFT holders voting on which players they would like to see again. Amongst the trialists were two experienced centre-backs, two full backs, a 15 year old and a 17 year old in the midfield, twin wingers and a Colombian. The trialists were led by Fofana, and although they looked a little disjointed in the opening exchanges they slowly grew in confidence. Futera United, looking sharp, took the lead through Jew inside 15 minutes and dominated the first half and added a further two goals to make the halftime score 3-0. The young trialist Eak looked very good at left back and combined well with the equally impressive Art down the left flank.

The second half saw the introduction of coach Wut for the trialists and he showed what a class act he really is with his range of passing and deadball prowess. The two young lads in the midfield Four, only 15 years old, and Ice worked tirelessly but they were up against a relentless Futera United who added a further two strikes. The trialists pulled one back through a Fofana header to make the final score 5-1.

Centre-back, Nick looked calm and composed and would bring a wealth of experience. Pablo on the right handside struggled and looked out of his depth, while I feel it is a bit too soon for the youthful midfielders Ice and Four. The stand out performers were Eak at left back and Art on the left wing.

This game showed me what excellent players we already have at the club and it is going to take a special player to force his way into the starting line up. Coach Den’s excellent reputation will always help us attract quality players and the PSW Academy can become a conveyor belt for potential future Futera stars.
