30th April - 16:00hrs Thai / 09:00hrs GMT - TA LEAGUE

Another incredible week which began with the signing of the contract linking up with the PSW Academy,to nurture our future superstars, was followed by the huge announcement of the partnership with one37PM and would finally culminate in Futera United, a club formed less than four months ago, taking part in one of Thailand’s most prestigious football competitions. Our opponents for our first outing in the Thailand Amateur League (TA) would be the experienced Sing Ubon FC, who were narrowly defeated 2-1 by Wang Noi City the previous day.

A youthful Futera United, featuring three 17 years olds, took to the pitch at the impressive Kasembundit University Stadium, brimming with confidence and created a number of chances inside the first 10 minutes. A delightful reverse ball from Jew played in Bank who finished confidently to open the scoring on 15 minutes. The same pair combined again 5 mins later allowing Bank to slot home into an empty net to make the score 2-0. With Futera’s midfield totally dominant, and cutting through the Ubon defence at will it was inevitable that a third goal would come. Bank became the provider in the 25th minute when his low cross from the left was calmly steered home by Phu. The first half would finish Futera United 3-0 up and any of my pre-match nerves were now a distant memory.

The second half began with the rampant Futera again on the front foot, and within 5 minutes, the tireless Pang crossed from the right for Phu to notch his second of the game. Mai joined in on the goalscoring act in the 53rd minute when a fierce angled drive from the edge of the box flew into the top left hand corner to make the score 5-0. Another milestone happened on 60 minutes when the outstanding Jew broke through the Ubon lines, rounded the keeper and unselfishly passed for Bank to score and become Futera United’s first hat-trick hero. By now Ubon were looking totally demoralised and showing signs of weariness having played, rather unfairly 24 hours earlier. Wave after wave of Futera attacks kept coming and substitute Diew continued his fine scoring form by grabbing a brace to make it 8-0 after good work from Bobo and Oat. A fine curling shot from Katang increased Futera’s lead before Bobo, 25 yards out unleashed an unstoppable drive to make it an incredible 10-0. With the clock ticking down the excellent Don chipped the Ubon keeper, Cantonaesque, for the goal of the game to make the final score Futera United 11-0 Sing Ubon FC.

A scintillating performance from the whole team will make other teams stand up and take notice. Collectively to a man we were outstanding with our midfield three of Save, Jew and Don totally dominant. The pace of hat-trick hero Bank is frightening and along with the vision and guile of Phu and Mai our front three will cause problems to any team in this TA competition. A fantastic day for everyone involved with Futera United.
