Futera United continued their relentless pursuit of the Bangkok Premier League Division Four title with a ruthless display against lowly OMAC SC. The table toppers triumphed against their experienced opposition with a comprehensive 2-8 victory.

With numerous injuries and absent players, there was a sense of trepidation around the ground before kick off but these fears were allayed within 60 seconds when Bank went close, without a single OMAC player touching the ball. It took Futera just eight minutes to open the scoring when Bank wriggled free from the OMAC defence and despite several attempts to foul him he fired into the roof of the net. Minutes later Bank doubled the lead with a neat chip over the advancing keeper before Mai’s crisp left foot strike arrowed into the bottom corner to make the score 0-3 to Futera. The home side hit back against the run of play just before half time, when a free kick was dropped by Film and the OMAC striker gleefully tapped the ball home to make the score 1-3.

Futera stormed out of the blocks in the second half and Gael was set free on the right wing and his pinpoint cross was finished by substitute Art, firing home with his very first touch. Futera continued to dominate and went close on numerous occasions before the tireless Stefan was rewarded for his efforts when after good work from Katang on the left flank he sidestepped the OMAC defence to calmly side foot home Futera’s fifth. In the 60th minute a neatly worked short corner allowed Save to blast the ball home from a tight angle giving the OMAC keeper no chance.

Art scored his second and Futera’s seventh when he beat the OMAC keeper to a delightful through ball from the impressive Ter, to tuck the ball away into an empty net. In the 82nd min an innocuous challenge from Poom was deemed as a foul by the referee and OMAC were awarded a penalty which they duly converted despite substitute Chang’s valiant dive. With the clock ticking down Mai sealed a dominant victory when his fierce 25 yard drive flew into the corner of the net to make the final score 2-8 to Futera.

Futera’s imperious form continues and they are very much on for an unbeaten season with only three games left to play, which will be an incredible achievement. Mai returning from injury had a great game scoring with two sublime strikes and Ter was a revelation in the right back role while Bank was sensational and a constant threat to the OMAC back four. Futera step up a level for their next fixture when they make the arduous trip to Sisaket United for a Chang FA Cup fixture which will be the biggest game in their short history.
