Futera United suffer shootout heartbreak against Singburi Warriors. Futera United were left to rue missed chances as Singburi Warriors claimed victory on penalties after a 1–1 draw.

With eight first-team players sidelined through injury, United fielded a patched-up lineup but looked dangerous from the outset. Chances came, with James Oise going closest after a sublime turn and shot brought a fine save from the Singburi goalkeeper.

United came flying out of the blocks after the break and finally found the breakthrough.

A goalkeeping error handed Oise a simple finish for his second goal of the season, giving Futera a deserved lead.

What followed was a succession of opportunities to put the game beyond reach. United continued to apply pressure but, through a combination of saves and missed chances, could not find the second goal their play deserved.

That proved costly late on. Singburi broke down the left and were awarded a penalty following a challenge that appeared soft on replay. Despite United’s protests, the referee stood by his decision, and Singburi converted to send the match to a shootout.

Bas scored United’s first penalty before Zaw missed the second. Aof converted the third, but Khun’s miss with the fourth, combined with Singburi’s perfect record from the spot, sealed a 4–2 shootout defeat.

There were positives in a performance delivered with so many players unavailable, but also a clear lesson in the importance of making chances count. United now turn their attention to next week’s league opener against Bangkapi, determined to turn a frustrating result into a stronger start to the league campaign.
