25th June 2023 - 16:00pm Thailand / 09:00am GMT - BPL Div 2

After the previous week's debacle, which ended with the game being canceled, Futera United returned to action with a resounding win over RMTFC to keep up their relentless pursuit of table-toppers TOA Dovechem.

Futera swarmed over their opponents from the opening whistle, dominating possession and creating several half chances. The inevitable opening goal came in the 11th minute when Nu's delightful diagonal ball was met by skipper Jew, who glided past the RMTFC keeper and shot into the empty net. The hardworking Golf scored his first goal in a Futera shirt to double the lead, catching the RMTFC defense off guard as they seemed to think the ball had gone out. Phu cut the ball back, allowing our striker to gleefully slot it home. Phu then helped himself to two goals in quick succession, first firing home after the keeper had saved his initial shot, and then, after fine work from Golf, he volleyed home to make the halftime score 4-0 to a rampant Futera.

At halftime, Futera made wholesale changes, giving debuts to PSW Academy youngsters CGame, Mark, and Beem, creating a youthful-looking Futera eleven. The away side extended their lead further minutes after the restart when a swift break down the left flank saw the industrious Golf cross for the 15-year-old CGame to score with his first touch. Futera were now in total control, attacking at will. The outstanding Phu set up Golf for a simple finish before completing his hat trick in the 64th minute, ghosting past a static RMTFC defense and unleashing a fierce left-foot drive into the bottom corner. Golf completed a deserved hat trick with 10 minutes remaining, latching onto Save's sublime through ball before assisting Mai, returning from a lengthy injury, to score his first of the season. Save completed the rout, smashing the ball home into an empty net after a mix-up in the shell-shocked RMTFC defense, making the score 10-0 to Futera.

An outstanding performance from Futera saw them maintain their unbeaten start and keep the pressure on leaders TOA Dovechem. Phu was outstanding, and it was good to see Golf get his just rewards for his hard work with a hat trick and two assists. The introduction of the PSW Academy players shows what talent we have in depth. CGame and Beem, both only 15, and 16-year-old Mark all looked confident and assured and showed some delightful touches. Exciting times for Futera as this incredibly young team looks to challenge for the Bangkok Premier League Division 2 title this season.
