Futera United fought back to earn an entertaining 3-3 draw against French side Evina FC in their fourth pre-season friendly at Bangkok University Stadium. Phu opened the scoring in style, cutting in from the right before catching the goalkeeper out with a superb finish at the near post to make it 1-0. Evina responded on the counter-attack, breaking quickly down the right before their forward slipped the ball through Film’s legs to level the scores. Aof restored Futera’s lead with a composed finish to make it 2-1, but the French visitors hit back once more before edging in front at 3-2 during an open and fiercely contested second half. With the game heading towards defeat, Futera showed tremendous character. Dang timed his run perfectly before coolly slipping the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper to make it 3-3, ensuring the spoils were shared after another impressive attacking display. There were plenty of positives for the coaching staff to take away. Futera looked dangerous throughout, creating chances against quality international opposition and continuing to play with confidence and intensity. While there are still defensive details to refine before the league campaign begins, the team’s resilience, fitness and attacking quality were all evident once again. Four friendlies into pre-season, preparations continue to gather momentum, with another strong performance against international opposition providing plenty of encouragement ahead of the new campaign.
