Saturday 3rd March 2022.

Futera United claimed victory in, what turned out to be, a much tougher test than the scoreline suggested!

Coming off the back of an impressive victory vs Bangkok Rep, Futera took on Police Ladkrapang in what was, on paper, a well matched contest. However it took only 10 minutes for United to open the scoring when experienced midfielder Jew, playing in a more attacking role after being voted in as striker by the NFT holders, won a penalty after good work running in from the right. John, the young right back, stepped up to power his shot into the top right corner, leaving no chance for the Police Keeper.

With the game opening up, the feeling was there would be more goals in this match, and after a quarter of an hour that proved true, with Fofana, the Futera power house midfielder finding himself with space in the middle of the park to deliver a pin point cross pass to Mai, who with a beautiful touch slotted the ball into the away teams bottom left corner, putting Futera United 2-0 up in the first period.

Several changes were made to both sides in the second period with Gael Basana coming on up-top after being absent for 10 days. Police started on the front foot, creating multiple chances, but could not break through the Futera defence. Basana’s pace and skill was causing the away team trouble and good work down the left from him saw a pinpoint pass to John on the edge of the box who hammered home a half volley - a world class goal! Ending the second period on a high, Futera went into the break 3-0 up.

The third and final period started brightly and after just 6 minutes Boss the Futera forward ran onto a through ball and chipped the Police keeper who was off his line, increasing Futera’s lead to four.

As fatigue kicked in for both teams the game began to open up with Police still looking to register points on the board. A counter attack from Police earned them a free kick on the edge of the box and which they fired home to make the scoreline 4-1.

with the game playing out to full time goals from Bobo for Futera, and a late consolation from police in injury time meant the game finished 5-2 to Futera. Still unbeaten!
